About
Dr. Anselm Onyemenem is a Full Professor and Director of the Dance Therapy Program in the Department of Theatre Arts at Imo State University. He oversees the Maryland Sister State partnership, coordinates staff and student exchange programs, and ensures that the dance therapy program meets international professional standards.
He also leads the Affiliated Nigerian Office of Foreign-Based Educational Skills Development and Dance Therapy Training, recruiting foreign instructors and arranging U.S.-based internships. In addition, he designs workshops and grassroots strategies to promote dance therapy and public healthcare, while building collaborative ties with overseas dance therapy institutions.
Dr. Onyemenem directs the university’s dance troupe, supervises curriculum development, and works closely with faculty and staff to advance dance therapy education and practice. His leadership continues to strengthen the program’s impact across local and global communities.


Educational Skills Development and Dance Movement Therapy is a chapter of the American Dance Therapy Association. It is the Center for Research and Development of African Dance and Music as Healing Art.
